James Bennett is a healthcare technology professional whose academic journey began at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he studied biomedical engineering and participated in numerous student organizations and service initiatives. After continuing his education at Cornell University, James Bennett began a career in technology, product strategy, and patient monitoring systems. He has also been involved in mentoring students, supporting charitable causes, and pursuing hobbies including fly-fishing, gaming, literature, and home cooking.
As a Bucknell University student, James Bennett took part in the e-NABLE prosthetics initiative. He worked with fellow Bucknell students in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and helped design, assemble, and distribute simple low-cost 3D-printed prosthetic devices for children with upper limb disabilities. The main demographic his club served was underprivileged children in the greater Lewisburg, Pennsylvania area.
Professionally, Mr. Bennett serves as a Global Product Manager at Baxter. There, he contributes to the development and management of connected patient monitoring technologies used internationally. His responsibilities have included overseeing product strategy, supporting global market expansion, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and evaluating emerging healthcare technologies.
Outside of work, James Bennett has enjoyed cooking and learning new recipes. When he began, many of his dishes were simple but could be described as an assault on the senses as he was still perfecting his culinary skills and the volumes of spices to use. In the early days, his friends and colleagues plead with him to not force them to sample his creations. Over time, he has expanded his culinary interests, began practicing a range of cooking styles, and has improved greatly as a chef. James Bennett prefers to purchase many of his ingredients locally from Syracuse farmers markets to ensure support the Syracuse community and to ensure his dishes are fresh and delicious.
